Itinerary
Day 1
Sydney
Start your tour savouring the sights and sounds of the bustling metropolis of Sydney, one of the world’s most scenic cities. Enjoy time exploring famous landmarks including Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Bondi Beach to name but a few before sampling local cuisine and discovering what else the city has to offer.
Day 2
Sydney – Kangaroo Valley
Your adventure starts with a ride to the Royal National Park, before climbing the Stanwell tops to see the birds in action on the 200m cliffs. The ride along the coast offers many fine views while negotiating the bends, hopefully the blowhole at Kiama will give you a good show, before arriving in secluded and serene Kangaroo Valley.
Day 3
Kangaroo Valley – Blue Mountains
Start the day with a ride to Fitrzoy Falls, before continuing to the Southern Highlands, with its lush landscapes and quaint villages such as Berrima, an unspoilt example of a small Australian town in the 1830s. Continue towards the Blue Mountains, enjoying the incredible scenery, huge waterfalls and the second largest canyon on earth before dinner.

Day 4
Blue Mountains
This morning is spent sightseeing in the Blue Mountains – Three Sisters, Wentworth Falls, cable car rides, lovely walks through the lush, ‘blue’ bushland from which the area gets its name, and plenty of scenic outlooks. Today’s route is a circular ride around the mountains before heading back to your hotel for the night.
Day 5
Blue Mountains – Hunter Valley
Get up early because there’s more spectacular riding. Take the winding back road past the gorges of Wollemi National Park. Visit the renowned Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens for lunch. Carry on down the Putty Road, one of Australia’s most exciting biking roads, which takes you to your accommodation in Hunter Valley, home to some tantalising wineries.
Day 6
Hunter Valley – Armidale
More incredible riding and views along a scenic and twisty back road takes you through New England to Armidale. Famous for its deciduous trees and offers some of the most scenic roads in Australia. A country town feel combined with a good choice of restaurants mean Armidale is a nice place in which to spend the evening.

Day 7
Waterfall Way (Armidale – Bellingen)
It’s not a long day on the bike but there’s so much to see it takes all day. The simply breathtaking Waterfall Way will have you enthralled all the way – dense rainforest, countless waterfalls, huge views over New England National Park and one of the best biking roads in the country. Stay the night at the base of the Great Dividing Range.
Day 8
Bellingen – Ballina
You want more spectacular back roads? You got it! From your overnight stop wind your way through northern NSW to Australia’s most easterly point at Byron Bay. Here you’ll find a lively and friendly small town, beautiful beaches and a lovely hinterland. Once a centre for ‘alternative lifestylers’ it has a unique atmosphere. Stay in Ballina a short ride away.
Day 9
Byron Bay (free day)
You have a day free in Byron Bay to relax on the beach, visit the famous lighthouse and enjoy the atmosphere in town at one of the many restaurants. If you’d like to explore a little more on the bike take a ride into the lovely hinterland – it’s up to you how you spend the day!

Day 10
Ballina – Brisbane
The Gold Coast is Australia’s most visited holiday destination. Great beaches, busy nightlife and a surprisingly beautiful hinterland. If you want it busy you’ve got it, if you prefer the views then you can have them too! You’ll end the day in Brisbane, the bustling capital of Queensland with a great river, great nightlife and beautiful botanical gardens.
Day 11
Brisbane – Rainbow Beach
Heading west out of Brisbane on more winding roads, the glorious sights of the Glasshouse Mountains will keep you busy all day. You can also visit Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo on the way to Noosa on the Sunshine Coast. Have a stretch and a coffee or some lunch at the beach and visit Noosa National Park on your way to the overnight stop at Rainbow Beach.
Day 12
Rainbow Beach (free day)
Enjoy a relaxed rest day in Rainbow Beach. There’s plenty to see, including the famous sandy cliffs and Coloola National Park. The optional activity for the day is a guided 4WD tour of Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world. We highly recommend it as you take the eastern beach, rainforests, crystal clear freshwater lakes and shipwrecks.

Day 13
Rainbow Beach – Rockhampton
Leave early as this is a long day in the saddle! You’ll pass huge pine plantations on the way to Maryborough, then Bundaberg (stop in at the rum distillery if you’re interested) and the very busy port of Gladstone. Rockhampton is one of the finest cities in Queensland and the beef capital of the state. You’ll get a good steak here!
Day 14
Rockhampton – Eungella
Today brings less exciting riding but get it out of the way early and enjoy Mackay and the spectacular Eungella National Park.
Day 15
Eungella – Airlie Beach
A short ride brings you to Airlie Beach and the spectacular Whitsunday Islands. You’ll want to stay much longer than a day!

Day 16
Airlie Beach (free day)
Airlie Beach has a holiday feel and tropical atmosphere, a real holiday town! Relax and enjoy the day or take the optional Whitsunday Island cruise for superb snorkeling and unspoilt white sandy beaches.
Day 17
Airlie Beach – Mission Beach
A long ride but you’ll be well rested after your time in the Whitsundays! You’ll pass the charming town of Bowen and its unspoilt beaches, the Billabong Sanctuary and gracious Townsville before the overnight stop of Mission Beach. Put your feet up and enjoy a tropical drink!
Day 18
Mission Beach – Atherton Tablelands
Not a long day in terms of distance but there’s lots to see on the way. Ride the Waterfalls Circuit, stop at the Curtin Fig Tree in Yungaburra and the beautiful Lake Eacham, formed by volcanic activity. You’ll overnight in Atherton.

Day 19
Atherton – Port Douglas
A full day with lots to see at Mossman, Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Your day ends in the lovely resort town of Port Douglas.
Day 20
Port Douglas (free day)
If you’ve not already done so, enjoy the great beaches and the reef! The optional Great Barrier Reef tour is highly recommended; Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation can keep you occupied if you prefer.
Day 21
Port Douglas – Cairns
A very short ride but it gives you time to enjoy a last day in the tropics. The ride from Port Douglas to Cairns is beautiful and Cairns is a superb place to end one of the best motorcycle tours on the planet.
Day 22
Cairns
Your tour is over, and it’s time to head back to the airport, or on to your next adventure, with some fantastic memories.
