Experience some of the greatest roads and scenery that the Canadian Rockies has to offer on our first ever Orange & Black guided tour of Canada. If exploring Waterton Lakes, Wells Gray, Jasper and Banff National Parks wasn’t enough, this epic tour also takes in the world famous Calgary Stampede. Here Canadian cowboys strut their stuff annually and thousands descend to watch chuckwagon races and rodeo. You’ll hear some of the best country music Canada (and the USA) has to offer.

Ride the immense Icefields Parkway, dip into the USA’s mountainous ‘Going to-the Sun-Highway’ and enjoy the stunning Selkirk Loop. Throw in a current year 114″ authorised Harley-Davidson from Calgary Harley-Davidson. Add warm and friendly hotels, like-minded fellow riders and some of the best and most knowledgeable guides in the business. This tour couldn’t tick more boxes on your next must-do holiday list!

So if you want to enjoy all this and Canada’s highest and hottest locations, majestic mountain roads, magnificent glaciers, mighty waterfalls, sprawling rivers and lakes – secure your place now!

Day 1 Hello Calgary Arrive
Day 1 Hello Calgary

Take the complimentary hotel shuttle to our tour hotel located conveniently right opposite Calgary Harley-Davidson. The remainder of the day is yours to rest at the hotel, take a taxi downtown and explore the city highlights or maybe visit the nearby Aerospace Museum.

Day 2 Calgary Stampede - 415 km
Day 2 Calgary Stampede

Over breakfast meet your guides and fellow riders as we prepare for the ride ahead. Then it’s off to the Calgary Stampede for the day. Calgary switches identity from sober commercial centre to party town for the world-famous Calgary Stampede and you will be there to experience it all – a good time is guaranteed!

Day 3 Calgary - Waterton Lakes - 210 km
Day 3 Calgary - Waterton Lakes

Whilst you were exploring the delights of Calgary and absorbing the Canadian Cowboy vibe, we were preparing your iron horses so our adventure can start nice and early. First, we will ride south to the stunning Waterton Lakes National Park. Then taking an indirect route, we'll ride through the wilderness of Kananaskis country before stopping for lunch at a Canadian biker haven. Finishing the day, we ride the ‘Cowboy Trail’ - a relaxing route through big country that is Southern Alberta.

Day 4 Waterton - Kalispell, MT - 345 km
Day 4 Waterton - Kalispell, MT

Today’s ride is a real treat, not a long day but with incredible scenery and roads that cannot fail to inspire. For the early risers there’s much to see in Waterton Lakes National Park including unusual geology, amazing wildlife and rare flowers. Setting off from the hotel, we start by riding to the 49th Parallel and crossing into Montana, USA and the breath-taking Glacier National Park. After riding through the park, we’ll stop for a break at a neat little bar before today’s highlight, the Going to the Sun Road! This is a 'must ride’ for any biker. We end the day in Kalispell, with some great evening options – local beers, great restaurants and a real old-style ice cream parlor.

Day 5 Kalispell - Creston, BC - 270 km
Day 5 Kalispell - Creston, BC

We head north towards the Canadian border this morning, following the meandering Stillwater river. Then we head west on a twisting, little-known backroad over the mountains to Bonner’s Ferry, an old trading post and railhead. We stop for lunch overlooking the Yaak River and visit Yaak River Falls, giving you the chance to get your feet wet. Crossing into Pacific time, gaining an hour’s more riding time (!)  gives us the chance to pick up the famous Selkirk Scenic Loop at Bonner’s Ferry. This is a 280 mile / 450-km loop on some of the most scenic highways of the American Northwest and Canada. We end the day back over the border in Canada and our next overnight stop, sleepy Creston.

Day 6 Creston - Nelson - 300 km
Day 6 Creston - Nelson

Today, we continue north on the winding Selkirk loop, following the east bank of Kootenai Lake. Taking the longest free ferry crossing in the World to Balfour on the west bank, we head north past Ainsworth Hot Springs spa to the pretty lakeside town of Kaslo for lunch. Another great mountain ride follows this afternoon before we head south again along the east bank of Slocan lake before turning east along the Kootenay River to Nelson. Nelson offers a lovely blend of great scenery and a thriving downtown area with stunning river views. Get ready for a change of gear as it’s a bit busier than our previous stops. And don’t forget to check out the Fire Station, made famous by the film Roxanne starring Steve Martin.

Day 7 Nelson - Osoyoos - 160 km
Day 7 Nelson - Osoyoos

Leaving Nelson, a gentle winding road brings us to Salmo where we pick up Highway 3, the Crowsnest Highway. This is one of the ‘great routes’ of Canada, running parallel to the US border. We ride through the Southern British Columbia towns of Christina Lake, Grand Forks and Greenwood to join the Kettle River Valley before climbing up towards the warmest and driest part of Canada, the southern Okanagan. We descend the steep Anarchist Mountain (no, we don’t make up these names!) into Osoyoos, the warmest spot in Canada. With its warm, dry climate you’ll find Canada’s only desert nearby. This part of the Okanagan teems with rare flora and fauna alongside fruit orchards and vineyards. The warm clear lake is ideal for swimming, so don’t forget to pack your bathers!

Day 8 Osoyoos - Kelowna - 345 km
Day 8 Osoyoos - Kelowna

After breakfast in a tranquil vineyard, we head out in the morning light on Highway 3 to Keremeos - famous for its fruit farms. A little down the road is the old mining town of Hedley where we’ll make a stop and have a look around the museum. Then it is back to the Keremeos historic grist mill before riding up into the hills. A winding detour brings us back to the lakes, and our next stop, Kelowna. This afternoon we’ll take a vineyard tour, after safely storing the bikes.

Day 9 Kelowna - Clearwater - 100 km
Day 9 Kelowna - Clearwater

A longer but satisfying ride awaits us today, with gentle twists and curves throughout the day. We head east to the country music capital of Canada, Merritt, with its historic Cold Water Hotel and country music murals and sidewalk stars. Looking out for cattle drives on the ranches, we take the old road to Kamloops via Nicola Lake. In Kamloops we leave civilisation behind as we pick up the Thompson River, following it all the way to Clearwater, at the entrance to Wells Gray National Park.

Day 10 Clearwater Free Day - 325 km
Day 10 Clearwater Free Day

A chance to explore the magnificent Wells Gray Park, set in the heart of the Caribou Mountains awaits us today. You can just feel the solitude in 530,000 hectares of unspoiled wilderness. Independently you can Visit Dawson Falls where the Murtle River plunges more than 18 metres, the Devil's Punch Bowl where the force of water has pounded holes into the rocks, and Helmcken Falls, an hour’s ride from our hotel and three times the height of Niagara Falls! This afternoon we’ll arrange whitewater rafting or lake canoeing for anyone looking for even more adrenaline - so make sure you don’t have a heavy lunch!

Day 11 Clearwater - Jasper - 285 km
Day 11 Clearwater - Jasper

The Yellowhead Highway follows the North Thompson River between mountain ranges to Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and this will be just some of our accompanying vistas on this morning’s ride. We’ll take a break for a lake safari, hoping to see bear, circling birds of prey and other wildlife. Mount Robson Provincial Park is a World Heritage Site and the visitor centre is well worth the visit. Our afternoon continues with a ride over the Yellowhead Pass, crossing the time zone (losing an hour) and into the stunning wilderness of Jasper National Park.

Day 12 Jasper - Banff -
Day 12 Jasper - Banff

We’ve saved the best bit until last! Today we ride what many consider to be the world's most scenic highway, the Icefields Parkway, flanked by snow-capped peaks, glaciers, pristine alpine rivers, lakes and forested valleys. We guarantee the views will stay with you forever. We visit thundering Athabasca Falls, cross the Sunwapta Pass, and stop at the Columbia Icefields Centre to take a ride or walk on a glacier. Always keep an eye open for the diverse wildlife that frequently shows up on the roadside. Marvel at the brilliant blue waters of Peyto Lake and beauty of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. And finally, Banff’s beautiful mountain setting awaits you and offers plenty of attractions to occupy your time.

Day 13 Banff Free Day - 145 km
Day 13 Banff Free Day

With a free day, we have time to explore the sights around the thriving mountain resort of Banff. We’ll offer a 250-mile ride out to Takkakaw Falls and Radium Hot Springs. Or enjoy some of the local attractions. If it takes your fancy why not Ride the Sulphur Mountain Gondola, visit the Cave and Basin historic site, take a dip in the hot springs, ride out to Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake, hire a push bike, or catch up on some souvenir shopping.

Day 14 Banff - Calgary
Day 14 Banff - Calgary

With just a short ride into Calgary remaining, we take the quiet Bow Valley Trail through ranching country along the Bow River. We'll pass Ghost Lake and maybe visit a Wolf Sanctuary and the western style centre of Cochrane - famous for its coffee shops and ice cream parlours. Then it's time to return our bikes to Calgary Harley-Davidson. The day and indeed tour will conclude tonight with our Farewell Dinner. A final opportunity to reminisce about your personal highlights of the tour in the company of your new-found friends.
